Joaquin Sparks Chelsea Rumours

Joaquin was one Spain's stars during the recent Euro 2004 qualifying campaign and was also in sublime form during the 2002 World Cup.

A move to Manchester United has been through the rumour mill, with United reportedly ready to offer £14 million. But then just days after that, Chelsea were linked with a £25 million swoop!

And Joaquin has added fuel to the fire, saying "I know who Roman Abramovich is, but nobody from Chelsea has called me.

"These rumours always seem to come out but never from either of the two parties involved.

"I like the Premier League, and I would not have any problem in starting an adventure away from Spain.

"If the Betis president (Manuel Ruiz de Lopera) should decide at a given moment that I must leave for the good of the club, it would not frighten me to play in England.

"Arsenal against Chelsea with Reyes there? It would be like Betis against Sevilla in London, in the Premier League. That would not be bad.

"Am I jealous of Reyes? Not at all, I'm happy at how things are going for him over there. He's an excellent player and I'm sure that things are going to work out very well for him."

So, Joaquin to Chelsea this summer? Don't bet against it!!
