I've seen better games on Hackney Marshes...

What a disappointing match it was last night.
I have to say, sitting in the press box, surrounded by beautiful female Barcelona supporters, I quite lost track what was going on on the pitch.
What was the final score?

Ah, 4-2, so does that mean the Blues go into the quarter-finals of the Champions league at the expense of the best team in the world?
As for the game it self, my notes, such as they suggests that the boys went three - nil up quite early on - hmmm, seems like such a naughty thing to do to our Catalan guests.
Things became much more diplomatic after they brought the game back to reality with two goals of their own.
Then up popped John Terry to inconvenience the Spaniards and knock them out of the cup with a headed goal - bad form JT.
Still things livened up after the game.

There was a lovely cultural exchange of views from one of the Chelsea scouts and Mr Right Guard.
But quite what the stewards were doing preventing the inevitable kissing between the two, on both cheeks, of course, is beyond me.

Still it was lovely to see Mr Abramovich walk across the pitch after the game flanked by some hangers' on and salute the kept-in Barca supporters.

At least I think Mr Abramovich and his friend was saluting the Catalan fans - my eyes clearly was seeing something else.
Still The Catalans did show him respect by trying to shower the billionaire with some water - must be some sort of Spanish welcome custom - shame it was still in the bottle.
Could have left a nasty bruise if it hit him.
I reckon the ex-SAS bodyguards would have had to have a conversation with the supporter in question - if only to instruct him how to aim better.

I have played in better games on Hackney Marshes, to be honest.
I don't know what all the fuss is about.
