Huth Rejects Newcastle

Chelsea's Carling Cup opponents Newcastle made an approach to Huth, who has yet to appear for the blues this season.

Toon boss Graeme Souness confirmed his interest in Huth, but is set to be turned down.

Huth, nicknamed 'The Berlin Wall' for his size, is willing to bide his time at the Bridge, as his agent Manfred Schult confirmed.

"Robert is happy at Chelsea and isn't prepared to go anywhere," explained Schult.

"He signed a new contract recently which ties him to the club until 2008 and he wants to honour it.

"He's a young boy and is not playing at the moment, but he is waiting for his chance.

"He is not frustrated at all because he knows he is playing for a world class team. He's totally committed to the club."

Huth may even get a Carling Cup run-out against Newcastle when the two sides meet!
