Grant faces Malaysia ban

Avran Grant faces the embarrassment of being banned from entry to Chelsea's pre-season tour of Malaysia.

Chelsea's desire for domination in the Asian market means they will be playing matches and promoting the club during the self-styled Samsung Chelsea Asia Tour 2008.
Grant and Ben Tal-Haim are Israeli nationals and since Malaysia does not have formal diplomatic relations with Israel, Israeli nationals cannot travel there without special dispensation.
So Chelsea face the prospect of global humiliation wherby the manager of the club and a player will not be able to travel with the team.
Chelsea should, of course have sorted all the entry requirements out before sanctioning the tour.
But money talks and if Grant and Ben-Haim have to stay away, then so be it.
Will Chelsea threaten to cancel the tour and back their manager and player?

Have your say on the mesageboard now.
