Goal Heroes Speak!

Lamps, who equalised just 5 minutes after half time, said "The fans have suffered - we haven't won against Arsenal for 19 games but they were all worth it as the longer it went on the stronger we got and we deserved to win.

"We really, really wanted to do something here.''

And what did unlikely hero Wayne Bridge make of it all: "When it was cleared off the line I thought it was not going to be our day but the lads battled hard and matched them for effort and I popped up with a goal.

"It was a great ball from Eidur. I didn't think I was going to get it back but when it came I just side-footed it into the corner.''

Of course, the shot off the line he was referring to was Eidur Gudjohnsen's effort just minutes earlier. So really, we should have won 3-1!

And wasn't it nice to see a couple of English lads win the game, seeing as it was a battle between two English teams!
