Forssell Confusion

Forssell is likely to spend the rest of the season at Birmingham, unless Chelsea lose one of our strikers to a long term injury. But, as yet no deal has been agreed.

Birmingham gaffer Steve Bruce said "We've spoken to Chelsea again and the agreement now is that Mikael is with us for the rest of the season. We've shaken hands on it. There is no danger of him going anywhere else in the transfer window and we are delighted he will be with us until the end of the season.

"Obviously, if Chelsea suffer a spate of injuries up front then things may change but that is the same with any loan deal. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, Mikael is with us until May.

"Then in the summer if there's a deal to be done, and Chelsea are willing to sell Mikael, then great.''

But Chelsea then placed a statement on our Official website, saying: "Reports that Birmingham City have signed Mikael Forssell on loan to the end of the season are premature.

"Birmingham have inquired about his availability and talks are due to take place before the current loan runs out at the end of next month.

"They will probably happen soon. But until a final agreement is reached nothing will be announced.''

So, Mikael is likely to be spending the rest of the season in Birmingham... it's just that nothing has been agreed yet!
