Chelsea have been charged by the FA for crowd disturbance during their clash against West Ham at Stamford Bridge on October 27.

The FA have issued a statement as follows: The two clubs have been charged with a breach of FA Rule E22 (a) for their alleged failure to ensure that spectators, and/or persons purporting to be its supporters or followers, conducted themselves in an orderly fashion and refrained from threatening and/or violent and/or provocative behaviour.

Both clubs have until 4 January 2005 to respond

It was the infamous Carling Cup clash which saw striker Mateja Kezman struck in the face with a small object as the Blues went on to win the tie 1-0 with a goal from Kezman.
