Did we deliberately lose last night?

It's a rare occasion indeed when I wish the mighty Blues to lose a match.
But last night in Bremen was one of them.
Had Sofia raised their game and nicked a result off Barcelona, then the Catalan 'giant' would be staring at the prospect of Champions League elimnation at the group stage.
Now, however they have more than an even chance of progressing as they are at home in their final match against Werder Bremen.
We are also at home to Sofia and will, I expect put out a very strong side.
But the defeat in Germany has given Bremen a chance of progessing at Barca's expense.
It's a cliche but had they been offered that position at the begining of the competition they would have taken it.
They played very well at the Bridge and might, just might nick the required point.
That would leave the European chamapions out of the competition and a major rival to Chelsea out of the way.
So yes, I was happy the boys lost last night.
I hope Ballack and Drogs are for for Sunday's match against Manchester United.
If not, well a defeat will leave us six points adrift of them and heading into winter in a mood of trepidation.
It's almost like the good old days.
