David Moyes Insists it Will Take 'Bank of England' Offer to Sell Declan Rice

David Moyes has insisted that Declan Rice won't be leaving West Ham unless the club receives a monumental offer.

Rice has been ever present for the Hammers in the current campaign, not missing a single minute of Premier League action all season.

The 21-year-old has been subject to interest from a several English sides with Chelsea seemingly at the front of the queue. Frank Lampard is said to be eyeing up a £45m deal for Rice, with a view to converting him into a centre-back.

Declan Rice has a strong relationship with current Blue Mason Mount

However, speaking before West Ham's game against Manchester United on Thursday, Moyes insisted that he has no intention of parting with his prize asset in the transfer window.

"I am confident he will be here because he is under contract, but whatever club you are at, even the biggest clubs sell their best players at the right value," Moyes told Sky Sports. "My intention is not to sell Declan at all, my intention is to keep him.

"We can't stop other clubs making offers but I'm guessing you [the media] will speculate, but the truth is we have had no offers for anybody. He is a really good player and I see him helping us, I hope that he sees what we are trying to add which will make him excited about being at West Ham."

Rice extended his Hammers deal until 2024 last season and Moyes also revealed that he views the midfielder as a future club captain.

"Declan was reassured when he signed a five-year contract, when you do that you decide you are committed to the club. If somebody then turns up and offers you a bundle of cash, that's the club's decision," he said.

"I think Declan is the future captain of West Ham going forward. When Mark Noble comes to an end I think it will be Declan Rice. We have no intention of letting him go but if it does come it will need to be 'Bank of England' money."
