Joe Cole was the undoubted star for England in the two-match USA tour.

Cole showed what he has learnt this season from Jose Mourinho and put that into practice for the national team.

Playing out wide on the left, Cole demonstrated, consistency and a high degree of inventivness - top marks Coley.

As for Glen, well two solid performances will have done is World Cup chances no harm at all.

Playing at right-back against the USA and then centre-back against Columbia, Johnson displayed excellent awareness and tactical nous.

He did have a couple of slip-ups in both games, but the matches will serve him well for the coming season, when he will battle for the right-back berth against Paulo Ferreira.

With John Terry, Wayne Bridge and Frank lampard to return to the national fold, it's looking good for Chelsea and England.
