Chile boss Jorge Sampalo was delighted to be making a bit of Chilean history having repeated their 2-0 win at Wembley in 1998.
He said: "I'm delighted to be making history and for the Chilean people at the cathedral of football.
It was a memorable performance from Alexis Sanchez ( who scored both goal). He showed his class. They were in our faces in the first half, but we managed to score. But were in control of thengameminnthensecondnhalf. -we dominated it.
It was fantastic to repeat our 2-0 victory.
"We can always improve and I was impressed by some of the players who played tonight, who did not play so regularly.
"We have shown we can mix it with the best in the world.
"We showed we could stay strong against a physical side and keep to our game plan.
"I am a realist. I will enjoy this time, but the thing that made me happy is conviction of the players on the field.
"As for the World Cup, it will be about the same favourites, but we will try and do put best against them. We play Brazil in three days time in a friendly and so I must keep our feet on the ground.
"Sanchez can be star of the World Cup. Our keeper kept us clam when we were under pressure. His extra height helped us."
