Chelsea's Away Goals Record Already Better Under Frank Lampard Than Maurizio Sarri

We all know just how poor Chelsea's home form has been, but the Blues have actually looked electric on their travels this season.

Results might not have been the best so far, but Frank Lampard's men have never looked shy in front of goal. They have only failed to score in one away league game all season and have looked considerably stronger away from Stamford Bridge.

To prove that, Opta have confirmed that Chelsea have already scored more goals away from home this season than they managed throughout the entirety of the last league campaign.

Under former boss Maurizio Sarri, the Blues managed just 24 goals in their 18 Premier League away games, but César Azpilicueta's strike in Wednesday's 1-1 draw with Brighton and Hove Albion took Chelsea's tally for the season to 25 in just 11 games.

That total is helped by five goals against Wolverhampton Wanderers, four against Southampton and four against Burnley - all of which came in three consecutive games earlier in the season.

Lampard's side have picked up 22 of their points on the road compared to just 14 at the Bridge, which has historically been an incredibly tough place for teams across England to visit.

They have lost three of their last four home games, which has seen their grip on fourth place loosen with each passing week. Fortunately, they still boast a five-point cushion over Manchester United, but their form has raised serious questions about their chances of success.

Chelsea have managed just 11 goals in their ten games at the Bridge, which has certainly left fans worrying about their chances of sealing Champions League football next season.

Alongside United, the Blues are under pressure from Tottenham Hotspur, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Sheffield United - all of whom remain locked in a tense battle behind Chelsea in the standings.

They will have to hope that their home form improves when they return to league action against Burnley on 11th January.
