Last updated : 08 October 2012 By DSG
With the January Transfer window looming ? certain rumours have been thrown around since the beginning of the 12/13 season. Here I will take a look at the top 5 potential 'comings and goings' of the 'top 6' that will affect The Barclays Premier League.

With only ?58,000,000 spent in The British Transfer Market last January ? it is fair to say that compared to the summer window, top flight managers are much more reluctant to spend. That said ? with such success stories like Papiss Cisse and Nikica Jelavic people may wonder why managers do not spend? Of course, the likes of big spenders Manchester City and Chelsea are in the latter stages of assembling their squads to challenge domestically and on the continent.

In this article ? I will look at transfer rumours surrounding teams in The Barclays Premier League. The potential comings and goings and reasons behind the move.

COMING IN: Chelsea -

Radamel Falcao

Radamel Falcao

Chelsea are ready to offer ?45,000,000 for Atletico Madrid and Colombian hit man Radamel Falcao. Having scored 36 goals in 49 appearances last season ? his first in La Liga ? and most recently a hatrick against Chelsea, Roman Abramovich seems to be ready to open the cheque book for arguably one of the most sought after strikers in Europe right now. What effect this will have on Torres is anyone's guess ? having just been released from the shadow of Didier Drogba. The Spaniard will have to prove to Roberto Di Matteo he has the ability to lead the line for Chelsea ? once again.

Andre Schurrle

Andre Schurrle

Having a ?16,000,000 bid rejected in the summer ? Roberto Di Matteo is a keen admirer of the young German international who can operate as a centre foward as well as the wing. With Torres seeming to regain confidence, Hazard and Mata are undoubtedly two of the brightest young talents in Europe ? the left side of Chelsea's attack is their weakest. With Malouda set to leave the club ? Schurrle, 21, would be the ideal signing to replace the Frenchman. With Abramovich seemingly after the youngest, brightest talent across Europe.

Andreas Laudrup

Andreas Laudrup

Son of current Swansea boss Michael Laudrup ? The Barcelona born midfielder was on show against Chelsea as h is Nordsj?lland side were beaten 4-0 by the Blues in this years Champions League. Given Chelsea's recent signings of young talent Andreas certianly fits the bill ? a young midfielder with passing ability of most La Masia graduates, Andreas could be bought into Chelsea to replace the ageing Frank Lampard. The Chelsea legend turned 34 this year ? and with rumours that Abramovich will only offer his 30+ year old players one year deals ? he may be out of Stamford Bridge.

Marouane Fellaini

Marouane Fellaini

With the Belgian recently admitting he could leave Everton and Moyes saying 'I wont say theres no chance in the next window because everybody is available throughout the world if the other is right' ? Fellaini could be on his way out of Goodison Park. Chelsea have been linked with a ?30,000,000 bid and with Fellaini admiting to Het Nieuswblad: 'I am just starting my fifth season at Everton, this will be one of my last. In January or at the end of the season I will turn to another club or championship'. A fan favourite at Everton, Fellaini could well be on his way to Chelsea.

Sergio Ramos

Sergio Ramos

The Spanish and Real Madrid star has fallen out of favour with Jose Mourinho and has been linked with numerous clubs around the world ? most notably Chelsea. Ramos' ability to play in the middle of the park as well as the right is an attractive proposition for Chelsea ? and the links Mourinho still has with Chelsea could see Ramos depart for Stamford Bridge although expect a large sum of cash for the Spanish star who has won 3 La Liga's 1 Copa del Rey and 2 Supercopa's with Real Madrid.

Going Out: Chelsea

Ashley Cole

Ashley Cole

With his contract set to end at the end of the current campaign, Cole will be free to discuss terms with a club in January in order for a move in the summer. With ex-Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti stating that Cole is the 'best left back in the world' ? it is to no surpirse that the England international is linked with a move abroad. Abramovich has told his 30+ players that he will only offer them 1 year contract's, with this is mind Cole may seek a more lucrative deal in order to earn one last pay rise. Les Parisiens are owned by the Qatar Investment Authority ? with signings like Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva, expect Cole to earn a big salary if a move falls through.

Frank Lampard

Frank Lampard

The Chelsea midfielder has just one year left on his current contract ? set to expire in the summer of 2013. Lampard is due a substantial loyalty bonus if he complete this year, something Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich Although doesn't see reasonable for a 34 year old at the end of his career. Being vice-captain at Chelsea ? rumours have surrounded Lampard for quite some time, most notably a move to Los Angeles Galaxy. The home of David Beckham. Lampard turned 34 this year and has seen his playing time decrease over the past two years ? under Andre Villas Boas as well as Roberto Di Matteo. La Galaxy will be keen to get another marquee signing ? Lampard. along with Beckham would increase income for the MLS side emphatically.

Florent Malouda

Florent Malouda

Having been sent to train with the reserves & U-21 side, it appears that Florent Malouda's time at Chlesea is close to an end. The France star posted a photo of the reserves training ground on his twitter account, although the players of Chelsea are far from sympathetic towards him. ?Over the past there's been some expression of the player to part the company, but it hasn't happened.? Chelsea are believed to be irritated with Malouda for rejecting transfers to leave the company. Di Matteo, asked if Florent Malouda had played his last game for Chelsea replied with - ?I don't know, only the future will tell. The transfer window doesn't open again until January.?

Michael Essien ?

Michael Essien

Having been loaned out to Spanish champions Real Madrid ? Essien received an emotional return with 'father figure' Jose Mourinho. Mourinho who claims to still have 'good connections' with Roman Abramovich ? believed Essien was allowed to join Madrid although on the verge of a transfer somewhere else. This transfer will depend on how Essien performers prior to the January transfer window ? if the Ghanian can produce the type of performances at Real Madrid like he did for Chelsea before his injuries ? expect Mourinho to sign the midfielder.

Daniel Sturridge

Daniel Sturridge

Deadline day in the summer saw Daniel Sturridge linked with a loan move to Liverpool. The deal fell through however ? and Sturridge is yet to feature in the league this season. Unhappy with his role on the wings of the Chelsea attack, Sturridge's demands to play in the centre role are unrealistic as ?50,000,000 man Fernando Torres is currently the clubs current front man. With fears he may drop out of England contention if he is not playing on a regular basis this season. ?15,000,000 should be enough for the England international ? who is unhappy at Chelsea. Sturridge would jump at the chance to play upfront with Luis Suarez, and would ease the goal-scoring burden of the Uruguayan international.
