Chelsea set to move in on United target Bale

After what has been a difficult season for Gareth Bale where he has to some become a scapegoat for the failings of a club who finish the season empty-handed with Barca claiming the La Liga title at the weekend

It has been reported that the player is isolated in the dressing-room as he has not picked up Spanish, his agent has been critical of his team-mates for not passing the ball to him and his family have moved back to the UK.

The player has maintained his desire to play for Real Madrid publicly but reports are coming out that behind the scenes the club want to sell him and that Bale himself is open to returning to the Premier League

The main obstacle to any sale will be the huge sums of money involved and the very few number of clubs who would not only be willing but capable of affording them with the added complication of FFP.

A report in the Mail today claims that Roman Abramovich is keen on adding Gareth Bale to Chelsea and that Bales representatives intend to sound out Chelsea to see if that interest will result in a bid

The report also claims that Real want to cash-in on the player that the fans have turned against in order to get something close to their initial outlay in the summer

Chelsea are understood to need to first sell Oscar to PSG or Real if they are to accommodate Bale.
