Chelsea midfielder Eden Hazard- We want to finish season the best we can

The 25-year-old starred as the Blues won the Premier League and Capital One Cup in 2015, but his performances this season have dipped alarmingly.

The Belgium playmaker scored his first Premier League goals of the campaign in last weekend's win at Bournemouth, and goes into Monday's game against title-chasing Tottenham eager to build on the display.

"Every season is different but for the last six years I was at the top," Hazard said on chelseafc.com.

"When I was in France (at Lille) I was on the top and it is the first time in my career when I feel I am not on the top, but I need to learn.

"I am still young, I need to learn every day

I hope it will be better next year.

"Of course I am looking forward to working with Antonio Conte

It is good to work with the best managers in the world.

"But we have a season to finish

He has a job to finish with Italy but we want to work together."

Hazard has recovered from a persistent hip/groin problem and could have a role to play in the title race after all, unless Leicester get the three points they need at Manchester United on Sunday.

If Leicester fall short of a victory at Old Trafford, Spurs need to win at Chelsea for the first time since February 1990 to have any hope of pipping the Foxes to the title.

"Yes, the game is important," Hazard added.

"But also the next one and the next one and the next one

We have four games to play and we want to finish the best we can.

"Four games and if we can beat all of the four opponents it will be good.

"When you are on the pitch you are concentrated just on beating the team but you can feel in the stadium that the atmosphere is a bit different when you play Spurs than playing other teams, because for the fans it is very important and for us as well."

Conte will take charge as head coach once Italy's European Championship campaign concludes this summer, as permanent successor to Jose Mourinho and following Guus Hiddink's caretaker spell.

Supporters have criticised Hazard for his form - some suggesting he was culpable in Mourinho's dismissal - and he netted his first Chelsea goal of the season in January's FA Cup win at MK Dons.

Hazard did not rule out a move to Paris St Germain, on the eve of the Champions League last-16 first leg in the French capital, and has continually been linked with Real Madrid, too.

But he is under contract with Chelsea until 2021 and it is unlikely a transfer would be sanctioned for a player whose value must have dipped significantly this term, but could yet soar once more.

Former Juventus boss Conte will be watching the final four games - against Spurs, Sunderland, Liverpool and Leicester - with interest.

Hazard added: "It is important to finish the season well, for the players who go to the Euros and to prepare for the next season, because we have a lot of games again to play next season and if we want to start really well next season we have to finish this season well."
