Chelsea look to add power up front in January transfer window

Chelsea will be hoping that this season will be a tale of two halves to use that over used cliché with renewed focus after the arrival of Guus Hiddink

The momentum with the club is certainly changing but they do need more options up-front with Costa having a dip in form that seems to have only been cured after the arrival the change in manager.

One player that has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge is Carlos Bacca and he would certainly add further threat and is also not cup-tied so could be registered for the Champions League with PSG lurking on the horizon

A return to form and greater depth up front would certainly do their chances no harm at all of reversing last years result and progressing to the Quarter-Finals.

The Italian news outet Gazetta dello Sport do suggest that the Blues will look to do business before the window closes in just over 21 days time with £30million being tabled.

Carlos Bacca has made just 21 appearances for AC Milan, scoring 9 goals after joining from Sevilla who he inspired to a run of great success over the years

The 29-year-old Colombian made 108 league appearances at Sevilla, scoring 49 goals and winning the EUFA Europa League on two successive seasons (2013-14 and 2014-15)

The striker has been consistently scoring 20+ goals each season since 2012 with this season looking like an anomaly although he has player some 20 games less than in previous seasons.

Bacca joined AC Milan to inspire them back to greatness, but with the club 8th in the league this will not be a quick fix

With Bacca certainly in the last few years of his career at the very top the opportunity of Champions League glory may well appeal to the Colombian if the price is right.
