Chelsea look at Russian Akinfeev as Cech replacement

Chelsea are once again showing an interest in CSKA Moscow keeper Igor Akinfeev according to a report in The Daily Mail.

It is not the first time that Chelsea have looked at the Russian keeper, having previously registered an interest 18 months ago.

They signed Belgian keeper Thibaut Courtois in the summer, but the teenager is keen to gain experience at another English club before making his Chelsea debut.

Doubts have now resurfaced over Petr Cech's long-term role as first choice goalkeeper and manager Andre Villas-Boas is now ready to take action.

The CSKA Moscow keeper would not come cheap, as Manchester United were believed to have had a bid turned down for the 25-year-old in the summer.
