Chelsea launch Oscar plus cash bid for Real Madrid star

Jose Mourinho seems to be keen to bolster his squad ahead of the new season with a reinforcement in midfield in the form of Isco

An initial bid was reportedly rejected by Madrid as they do not want to sell the Spaniard.

It appears the player is relatively unsettled due to a lack of confidence from the new manager Rafael Benitez and fears for his place ahead of the upcoming season

However, in truth, Stamford Bridge would probably be the worst place to try and get a starting position in midfield as there is a relatively long list of players already at the club trying to fill those positions.

Aside from the regular starters, January signing Juan Cuadrado is likely to be given more time to try and prove himself especially after his disciplined performances at the recently ended Copa America

Also waiting on the side lines is Mohamed Salah who after an impressive spell at Fiorentina will doubtless want a chance to make a mark on the Premier League.

It remains to be seen whether Chelsea will actually get to sign Isco and where he will play if they do.
