Chelsea cleared to sell JT

By Paul Lagan
Friday, 5th February 2010
Not that they would, would they?

Chelsea can sell John Terry.

That's the startling conclusion from yesterday's judgement from the The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) which basically said Chelsea and Lens have made an arrangement which allows Chelsea to keep Gael Kakuta by Lens admitting they never really had a binding contract with the midfielder.

As a result of this arrangement, there is no case to answwer and all transfer restrictions and fines are lifted.

No one is stating what the agreement between the two clubs consists of - surprise, surprise but I'm sure the French club are a few quid better off.
Chelsea are desperate for that arrangement to remain private in order to prevent too many searching questions.

John Terry is meeting up with England boss Fabio Capello this afternoon after Chelsea's training session.

If John has taken clear advice, he will be in a position to clarify his position to Capello as to why he should remain England captain.

I fully expect Capello and Terry to make a joint announcent with the wish that the matter was at and end and all that matters, from England' s point of view, is their preparations for the World Cup.

In the unlikely Should Capello sack Terry, then there will be an increased rift of a split within the England camp.

Chelsea regard Terry's actions as a private matter, and so should England.
