Chelsea 1-0 Servette: Player ratings as Sam Kerr fires Blues to win

Sam Kerr's second-half strike was enough to earn Chelsea a 1-0 win over Servette in the Women's Champions League at Kingsmeadow on Thursday night.

The Blues completely dismantled the Swiss champions in the reverse fixture, running out 7-0 winners in Geneva, but it was a very different contest this time around.

The hosts were flat in the first half, only creating two good chances as Fran Kirby's shot was saved from the angle before Beth England had a header palmed away.

Although Chelsea improved after the break, they still had to wait until the 67th minute to open the scoring. Fran Kirby provided yet another assist for Kerr, slipping the Australian through to nutmeg a defender and fire home.

Servette were then reduced to ten players when Amandine Soulard received a second yellow card for a rash challenge late on.

Debutant Lauren James and Jessie Fleming both went close twice each in stoppage time, but Chelsea couldn't find a second.

The result keeps the Blues top of Group A in the Women's Champions League.

Here's how the Chelsea players rated...

Zecira Musovic (GK) - 7/10 - Smart save to stop a cheeky back-heeled effort after the break. Another good save soon after.

Millie Bright (CB) - 7/10 - Saw plenty of the ball, attempting to play out from the back and making some marauding runs.

Magdalena Eriksson (CB) - 7/10 - Some important interventions and played out from the back smoothly.

Jonna Andersson (LB) - 6/10 - Denied a goal by an excellent block in the second half. Subbed.
