Having found himself out-of-favour with former manager Andre Villas-Boas, Lampard has cemented his place back in the Chelsea team under Roberto Di Matteo.

Lampard will captain Chelsea against Bayern Munich following the suspension to John Terry for his red card against Barcelona.

The 33-year-old midfielder joined Chelsea in 2001 from West Ham for ?11 million and is the third highest all-time goalscorer in the clubs history with 186 goals in all competitions.

He has scored 24 goals for Chelsea in 95 European games including one in the 2007-08 Champions League final defeat to Manchester United.

Lampard will be looking to avenge his wrongly disallowed goal against Germany at the 2010 World Cup and will be a major threat to the German side on Saturday evening.
