He is clearly learning from his new gaffer then!

Cech said of Mourinho: "His style of working is very different from other managers. It's more fun for players as you are always working with the ball.

"If you are doing physical work but can still use the ball, I think that it's great for the players. This is one of the reasons we appreciate working with him."

As for the Euro 2004 victors, Petr had this to say: "Greece just played defence and counter-attack and they won the Euro 2004 finals. But in that style of playing football, you can win just once in 100 years. I don't think they will repeat it in the next 100 years.

"In football, it's always important for sponsors and everyone to get victories. We are getting victories, so we can be happy with that. We are not playing defensively as we had five offensive players out there against Porto.

"Chelsea are a great team so we usually control all 90 minutes of the game," he observed.

"But, as a goalkeeper, you must still concentrate all the time and sometimes you have to make just one or two saves to make but you still have to do it well. It's difficult.

"One goal conceded in the past five games is great for our defence and our team as we know it's going to be easier for us if we don't concede goals.

"Maybe every year teams are better in defensive systems and football is getting better physically too. The pitches can seem really small to play on as there is no space to score goals.

"But we have still created a lot of chances to score more."
