Carlo Ancelotti is one happy man ahead of Tuesday’s much-win clash against Inter Milan in the Champions League.
An emphatic 4-1 victory over lowly West ham was a perfect fillip to the mighty clash that sees them Blues 2-1 down from the first leg in the San Siro.
Ancelotti confirmed that rookie goalkeeper Ross Turnbull will play against Jose Mourinho’s Italian champions.
“I think he will play on Tuesday,” said the Italian.
“I don’t think Petr Cech will play. Turnbull did not have a lot to do today, but what he did do he did well.
“He had a good save at the end of the match and he showed confidence.
“He has trained well and we have confidence in him.”
Ancelotti is relieved that the recent poor performances are behind him.
“When we lost against Manchester City it was a bad day for us,” he said.
“But we had a good reaction to that against Stoke City.
“Today we had a good performance. Florent Malouda had his best game for me. I hope he plays like this on Tuesday - but he won’t be playing left back.
“But more importantly we have improved and scored four goals.
“It’s important to have a good performance ands we are back to playing good football.
“We must maintain this  concentration in every game from now to the end of the season. We want to play like this in every game.”
Ancelotti knows that all the attention will be on the return of Jose Mourinho on Tuesday.
“I have no message for him, said Ancelotti.
“We want to win and they want to win.
“We are in good condition to do our best. When I put my line-up I don’t think of the opposition’s line-up I only think about putting g out my best team.”
