Callum Hudson-Odoi Makes Return to Chelsea Training Following Sunday Morning Arrest

Chelsea star Callum Hudson-Odoi has returned to training with his teammates, following his arrest in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The 19-year-old winger was held in police custody on suspicion of rape, after an 'unwell woman' was taken to hospital.

Hudson-Odoi was released on bail following the incident, and he was pictured on the Chelsea website, taking part in training sessions with his colleagues. The England international arrived at the club's training ground on Tuesday and underwent a coronavirus test before being allowed to train with his teammates.

The Blues' stars were forced to train in small groups, as Premier League teams begin to adjust to the new health and safety guidelines for the coming weeks. Hudson-Odoi was pictured jogging alongside fellow forward Christian Pulisic, goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, central defender Kurt Zouma and midfielder N'Golo Kante.

It is believed that Chelsea boss Frank Lampard gave the winger the go-ahead to rejoin training, despite the severity of the accusations made against him.

A Met Police spokesman stated: "Police and London Ambulance Service were called at 03:53hrs on Sunday, 17 May to a report of an unwell woman.

"When emergency services attended, a woman reported that she was raped. She was taken to hospital.

It was the first time that Hudson-Odoi was been sighted since the incident, and neither Chelsea nor the player in question have made any form of a statement regarding the ongoing situation.

The English top-flight is hoping to restart the 2019/20 campaign following the suspension due to the coronavirus outbreak, and the foundations have been laid for players to return to fitness and prepare to take to the field once more.
