Calling the Toon

Chelsea could regain the lead of the Premiership on Saturday when the boys take on Wigan.
But before that, the Premier League champions have to overcome a resurgent Newcastle United at St James's Park on Wednesday night.

Yes, it's Carling Cup night and we look forward to more knockout knockabout fun.

The Blues scrambled to a league victory over the Toon last Wednesday evening thanks to Didier Drogba's second half strike.
But the Geordies will be a harder proposition at their place.
They will also welcome back a couple of first-teamers like Emre and Damian Duff to the fold.
It's a match that looks destined for extra time and perhaps penalties, so don't be surprised to see the boys heading back to London with their tails between their legs.
Andriy Shecchenko will be given a starting place and Shaun Wright-Phillips will be given another chance to shine.

Paulo Ferreira will probably return to right bacok with Wayne Bridge restored to left back.
John Terry will be left out altogether as he seeks to be fit for the Wigan encounter.
