Bunch Of Slackers

Whilst today's newspapers, and most Chelsea fans, have laid the blame firmly on Claudio Ranieri for yesterday's defeat, Eidur Gudjohnsen is refusing to blame his manager.

The Icelandic star said "It's disappointing because we slacked off and lost our shape. We lost because of our own wrongdoing rather than their inspiration. It's unacceptable really.

"You can't fault the work rate but we were working as individuals rather than as a team in the second half.

"When you lose your shape as a team you can do all the running you want but it won't make any difference.

"The fact that we didn't score when they were under pressure was crucial and their second goal gave us all a shock. The last half-hour was definitely below par."

Fair play to Eidur, he tells it like it is... although, ironically, he was one of the few players who came out of the game with any credibility!
