Blues to land Papy Djilobodji

Chelsea have hit panic mode and are on the verge of landing Papy Djilobodji

The Nantes centre-back is having a medical as we speak and at £2.7million is a snip when compared to the £40million, Chelsea were prepared to hand over to Everton for John Stones.

But the fee reflects that he is in the last year of his contract.

But  with the Toffeemen deciding bizarrely to say goodbye to the cash, Chelsea's technical director Michael Emenalo has identified Djilobodji as an alternative.

The player is 26 years old and he comes from Senegal.

He has played just 56 games for the Ligue 1 side.

It's expected that a four-year deal will be pushed through within the next couple of hours, subject to him passing the medical.
