Chelsea have finally made a decision and appointed a manager to take over from Avram Grant who was sacked what seems like an age ago.
Luis Felipe Scolari the current Portugal boss will take over on July 1 and his first task will be to keep want away Ricardo Carvalho.
Scolari whose main claim to fame is at national level was one of the world's worst kept secret appointments.
He had hoped that his appointment would be kept secret until Portugal's involvement in Euro 2008 was over.
But massive pressure was brought to bear and Chelsea finally put their fans out of their misery and decided to make it all official.

Chelsea have said: "Felipe has great qualities. He is one of the world's top coaches with a record of success at country and club level, he gets the best out of a talented squad of players and his ambitions and expectations match ours. He was the outstanding choice."

Whatever you might think of Chelsea's handling of this affair, most Chelsea fans can be confident that Scolari will at least show some passion that Grant lacked.
Big Phil was born born on November 9, 1948 in Passo Fundo, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil) He led the Brazilian national team to victory in the 2002 World Cup.
He is also an Italian citizen.

Welcome to Chelsea, Luis, and good luck - you will need it.
