Chelsea travel to Germany to face Bayern Munich in the second leg of their round of 16 Champions League tie.

The German champions swept aside their opponents at Stamford Bridge before lockdown, winning 3-0 thanks to a brace from Serge Gnabry and a strike from Robert Lewandowski.

Chelsea will need a minor miracle to progress to the next round, and spirits will be low after their defeat in the FA Cup final against Arsenal.

Bayern Munich: Neuer; Kimmich, Boateng, Alaba, Davies; Cuisance, Goretzka; Gnabry, Muller, Perisic; Lewandowski.

Recent Form

Bayern come into this game in frightening form, winning 25 of their last 26 games in all competitions – a run that stretches all the way back to December.

Poland international Robert Lewandowski has been arguably the world's best player this season. The 31-year old has found the net 51 times in 43 appearances, and has failed to register a goal or an assist in only six games.

As for Frank Lampard's side, they have had mixed fortunes since the restart. They finished the season with seven wins from their final ten league games - enough to secure a Champions League place for next season. However, they missed out on the chance to lift a trophy because they...y'know, lost the final.

Olivier Giroud has been singled out for praise lately. The World Cup winner has scored eight and assisted one in his last ten starts for the Blues.

Here are the last five results for both sides.

Bayern Munich
Bayer Leverkusen 2-4 Bayern Munich (4/7)
Wolfsburg 0-4 Bayern Munich (27/6)
Bayern Munich 3-1 Freiburg (20/6)
Werder Bremen 0-1 Bayern Munich (16/6)
Bayern Munich 2-1 Borussia Monchengladbach (13/6)

Chelsea
Arsenal 2-1 Chelsea (1/8)
Chelsea 2-0 Wolverhampton Wanderers (26/7)
Liverpool 5-3 Chelsea (22/7)
Chelsea 3-1 Manchester United (19/7)
Chelsea 1-0 Norwich City (14/7)

Prediction

It is difficult to see a comeback for Chelsea, especially with a number of big names missing out.

The Blues conceded 54 goals in the league - the most in the top half of the Premier League. This will have the Bundesliga champions licking their lips, as they managed to find the net 100 times in the league. With this in mind, it could be another long 90 minutes for Lampard's side.

Prediction: Bayern Munich 4-0 Chelsea
