Aurelien Tchouameni: Liverpool & Chelsea fear midfielder is joining Real Madrid

Liverpool and Chelsea fear that Real Madrid are winning the race to land French starlet Aurelien Tchouameni, sources have confirmed to 90min.

90min revealed earlier this month that Liverpool and Real had registered their interest in signing the 22-year-old.

Now, both sides have progressed their interest, joining Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain in the race to land the midfielder.

Chelsea considered signing Tchouameni last summer but moved for other options instead. However, their interest has remained and they have kept close tabs on him since then.

The Blues' impending takeover has delayed official talks but Tchouameni is fully aware that they would match the terms that he has already agreed with Real, Liverpool and also PSG.

Sources close to Tchouameni have confirmed that the player has asked for a bit more time to consider his options. But 90min has been told that the fear from both Liverpool and Chelsea is that he is heading to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Real, who have just lost out on Kylian Mbappe to PSG, are determined to land Tchouameni - who is now their main transfer priority.

Monaco have accepted that Tchouameni will be leaving, having previously fended off interest last summer. That now looks a wise decision as his market value has soared after a brilliant season which has seen him become a key part of Didier Deschamps' France side.

Real had been hoping to pay just €40m for the midfielder, but Monaco are holding out for closer to €60m.
