Ambrosio Departs!

Ambrosio stepped into the pressure cooker when he replaced Carlo Cudicini in March, after Carlo broke a bone in his hand. Chelsea fans were expecting the same bumbling keeper they witnessed against Notts County earlier in the season.

Instead, Marco proved himself to be a more than able keeper. In his Premiership debut against Bolton, he was instrumental in our victory. Save after save in the first half, allowed us to counter attack our way to victory in the second half.

But he will mostly be remembered for keeping net in the game in which we finally defeated Arsenal. Carlo Cudicini has been with the club since 1999, and has yet to taste victory against the Gunners. Marco achieved it in just his second game against them! Indeed, he will leave the club with some fantastic memories.

Chelsea Mad would like to thank Marco for his contribution to the club, despite arriving with his flock of seagulls hair style! At least he can leave the club having sorted out that problem!
