100 years ago today

Chelsea Fc played their first match 100 years ago today.

We played mighty Stockport County and lost 1-0.
Ahh well.

Tomorrow three Chelsea players will start for England in their World Cup qualification match in Cardiff.

With John Terry injured, the mantle of top Blue will fall to Frank Lampard.
He will be supported, either side of him in midfield, by Joe Cole and Shaun Wright-Phillips.

It's felt that a five-man midfield will be the way to unlock an ultra-defensive Wales side who have no chance of reaching the Finals in Germany next year.

Chelsea have many other players on international duty this coming week.
Let's hope they all come through unscathed and are available for selection against Sunderland on Saturday week in the Premiership.
