Jose beamed "It was a perfect game. We didn't concede any goals and we scored three for the first time this season.

"I am pleased with the result, pleased with the performance and pleased with every single player. I think we played top-class football and controlled the game from the first minute until the last."

"Defensively we were incredible again, we scored goals and could have scored more.

"At the end of the day the game looked easy, but my players made it look easy because PSG played much better than they have been playing in the French league."

Jose also showed that he does have a caring side to his personality after Didier Drogba had asked to stay in France to receive an award: "Didier knows I always like my team to be a team from the moment we leave London until we arrive home and I want every single player after the match to go home with the team.

"When I brought him off before the end he was laughing and asking me if he'd done enough to stay on. Everyone thinks I am dreadful and never open to communication but this time I gave him permission to stay in France."
