Mourinho's Rants: Man City (a)

Jose was as blunt as ever.

“The game is over. They get three points, we get zero.”

A not fully fit Mateja Kezman and a strike-partner who is more deserving of the name 'Idle' than 'Eidur', couldn't convert any of the chances created by Frank Lampard and Damien Duff.

Duff put in at least 3 telling crosses, none of which were not even met by a Chelsea forward, let alone converted.

“In the first half I can’t understand why the ball didn’t go in the net – it came off everybody.”

A Nicolas Anelka penalty ultimately decided the match, but Jose was as ever out-going with his views on the decision.

“The penalty was not a penalty,” he stated. “For a start it was outside the box. You have in the Premiership this season some decisions that you can smile or cry at. I can remember a penalty against Arsenal and because of the players’ pressure they changed the decision against them. We couldn’t do this. The players went to him but he wouldn’t change his mind.

“I think he only saw one thing: Chelsea no 20 shirt. From his position that’s all he could have seen. And from 40 metres’ distance minimum. It was his decision. The game is over and I have to accept the reality.

“And then Manchester City just defended; they defended well. Two big guys. David James was outstanding on occasions.”

Well lets just hope we can do better against Moscow this Wednesday. If Mutu is available then give him a chance. He can't be any worse than Kezman and Guddy.

But lets not worry, as Jose said....

“In football you cannot cry. Just accept reality.”
