Mourinho's Rants: Fulham (a)

Mourinho's men desposed of the Cottagers by a comfortable 4-1 scoreline, but it wasn't always that easy. Midway through the second half, Fulham briefly drew level before Arjen Robben restored our lead... and we never looked back after that!

Jose said : "I think this win was important for us, because there were a lot of people in the country waiting to see what answer we would give under pressure. Before the game, we knew that Arsenal had beaten Tottenham 5-4 to return to the top of the table and so we knew that we had to win.

"The response we gave under that pressure was very important, and I think the team played very, very well.

"I don't think it is being arrogant or vain; I think it is confidence, because I have belief in the players and that they can win.''

And even the Fulham boss could do nothing but hold his hands up and praise Chelsea, even going so far as to tip us for the title!

Chris Coleman said: "They are excellent. We were played off the park by a class side. They are even better than Arsenal, and I think they are favourites to win the title.

"I think we just have to be thankful that we do not have to play teams like Chelsea week in, week out. They and Arsenal are way above teams like us.''

But the last word has to go to Jose Mourinho, for this gem of a quote, regarind the Spurs v Arsenal game... "Five-four is a hockey score, not a football score. I did not see the game, but I can tell you now that the defenders were a disgrace.

"In training I often play matches of three against three, and when the score reaches 5-4 I send the players back to the dressing rooms because they are not defending properly. So to get a result like that in a game of 11 against 11 is disgraceful.''
