Mourinho's Rants: Aston Villa (a)

After Didier Drogba was booked for diving when it appeared he was fouled for a clear penalty, Villa manager David O'Leary even admitted it was wrong and unfair. In response to this, Jose Mourinho was in total agreement.

"He is a football man, a fair person, and he’s correct. My view is your view, the view of everybody in the stadium. Of course it was a penalty."

“In fact it was more than a penalty. In some countries it would be two penalties! It was ridiculous, ridiculous. I can guess the referee was minimum 20 metres away. In the end we speak about points, and we lost two points.”

Mourinho was also critical of the overall officiating, especially after Mateja Kezman fairly tackled Villa's keeper Sorensen and was penalised.

"I said to the officials, you need to give more of your green shirts to the Villa dugout, because they are controlling the game,” he smiled. “Maybe I should change the way I am on the bench, maybe I should jump around and throw things like others do. But I have to say I love the way referees do it in England – fair play, the advantage law is the best in the world here.”

I just wish Mourinho would speak his mind more, he's too reserved!!
