It's all about the youth

Nemanja Matic, Scott Sinclair, Fabio Borini and Miroslav Stoch. The list could go on. As much as I love my beloved Chelsea we have wasted our youth players in recent times despite the loss of AVB for not making the 'youth project' work. Frankly I find this ludicrous especially seeing that at £1.5 million Matic would have been a bargain midfield anchor. What's also laughable is that we've been linked with a transfer to resign him!

Despite this loss of youth and lack of caring for the development of young players Chelsea have managed to carry on winning and keeping our track record of cup success. This is because we have managed to sign players such as Hazard, Oscar and Mata in recent years which have replaced these young diamonds in the rough with almost finished products. Although this maintains current success it isn't healthy to right off youths just because we can chose almost at footballer that we lay eyes on in the world.

In order to ensure that our current success isn't a flash in the pan Chelsea FC can't afford to take the customary loss and take the frame of mind "oh well lets buy someone for £30 million to shut the fans up". We can't let De Bruyne, Lukaku and McEachran end up in the same ex-Chelsea player bin. Lukaku and De Bruyne alone cost us £25 million meaning that a loss really isn't an option! However I can see a large percentage of our youth squad ending up this way! All you have to do is look at Marin, he was once labelled the "German Messi" but has no become a main stay of our bench. This is disgraceful! He is a perfectly useful player that has been shut out and received the full Chelsea FC experience.

To sum up my points, I am incredibly surprised at the lengths we go to purchase the young players from all corners of the globe just to send them to the footballing limbo land in between football and training with the reserve/U21 team. Does anyone remember Gael Kakuta, the player we wanted so much that we risked a transfer embargo for him. He's now only played six times for Chelsea! He's well on his way to becoming a wasted talent on an ever growing list! But who cares anyway we are winning European titles, what's the harm? (Rolls Eyes and nervously laughs)
